Job Description:

  The Warming Center Supervisor will report directly to the Associate Director, acting in a supervisory role over the Warming Center Guest Services Advocates. The individual will maintain clear communications with the staff, monitor & be aware of daily operations of this program & report events and outcomes of significance to the Associate Director. The individual will have a clear understanding of the program documentation and reporting requirements and work with staff to produce required reports and documentation. They will also serve as a substitute Guest Services Advocate if necessary. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES - Oversees the staff and condition of the Warming Center and its conformity to health and safety requirements - Establish & maintain daily staffing schedule - Establish & implement a crisis plan as necessary - Fields Advocates concerns and day-to-day issues - Ensure that the space is maintained in a clean and orderly fashion - Oversees inventory and purchasing of supplies - Responsible for completion of quarterly, annual or special reports - Oversees on-site orientation of new staff - Responsible for development of materials used in on-site programming - Supervises and evaluates performance of staff - Conducts monthly supervisions with staff - Follows agency policies and procedures in all program areas - Develops and maintains good community relationships - Conducts regular record keeping reviews and ensures any necessary documentation corrections are made to maintain compliance - Responsible for disciplinary actions and documentation of staff issues, according to the Employee Handbook to be done collaboratively with the Associate Director - Maintains guest confidentiality at all times - Reports pertinent information concerning illnesses, accidents, untoward events, staff difficulties, repair needs, etc. to the Associate Director - Completes incident reports, as needed - Participates in regular on-call schedule as required - Serve as a substitute Guest Services Advocate as necessary - Working as a Member of a Team: Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with co-workers emphasizing the following: Doing your share of work. Leaves work area clean and/or neat. Shows a level of tolerance and flexibility towards others. Gives and/or receives positive and constructive feedback. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Associate's Degree in the Human Services field and 1 year of experience in this field, or a High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 2 years related experience and/or training in a human service field. Preferred: Experience with homeless populations. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must have reliable transportation to and from work, a valid driver's license is preferred. NRCIL will provide training for First Aid and CPR certifications. SAFETY: Individuals must perform his or her duties in a safe & effective manner, must become familiar with, observe, and obey all safety rules & policies for prevention of injuries while at work, and must report any unsafe working condition or practice immediately including any injuries or illness.
