Coordinator of High School Health Careers Programs with teaching duties(10-month plus 5 days). LOCATION: Howard G. Sackett Center, Glenfield, NY with some travel to Bohlen Technical Center, Watertown, NY. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a team of educators to provide management and support of the health career programs for high school. Areas of responsibility include: Management of the operation of Health Careers programs. Developing and maintaining strong relationships with community, healthcare providers, and post-secondary partners. Evaluation, improvement, and development of Health Career programs that meet NYSED regulations and standards. Mentoring and support of teaching and clinical staff. Teaching Nursing Assistant in the morning at the Sackett Center. Oversight of LPN/Teacher Aide Sackett Technical Center. QUALIFICATIONS: Registered Nurse Currently licensed in NYS. BS Degree in Nursing, MS in Nursing Education preferred. Administrative or management experience preferred. Ability and willingness to obtain NYS teaching certification in Practical Nursing or have eligibility for a Transitional A Teaching Certification which requires two years of experience in Nursing. Candidates applying for a Transitional A Certificate must hold a high school diploma, have two years work experience, Child Abuse Workshop, School Violence Workshop, DASA Workshop, and be fingerprinted. Program Educator/ Health Monitor with Cornell Cooperative Extension
This position will serve as an After-School Program Educator/Health Monitor for Cornell Cooperative Extension Association of Jefferson County. The primary function of the Health Monitor role is to facilitate implementation of the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) guidelines with the 4-H Afterschool Program, to ensure that the program is compliant with COVID-19 requirements and procedures. Responsibilities will include screening youth prior to entering the program, implementing and documenting sanitization procedures, and facilitating parent pickup procedures in a manner that limits the possibility of exposure with the school and community. Other duties may be assigned as regulations and procedures are updated. When necessary, this position will provide comprehensive 4-H youth development opportunities for youth in grades pre-K-8 in the Beaver River Central School District.
