NUTRITIONAL PROGRAM FOR THE ELDERLY & SUPPLEMENTAL NUTRITION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM


NUTRITION EDUCATION & COUNSELING

A registered dietitian is available to provide free nutrition information and counseling.  This service is especially recommended for participants that are on special diets or with specific dietary problems.  Counseling can be conducted at a meal site or at an individual’s home.

Nutrition education articles on the latest topics are placed on the back of each month’s menu.


MEAL SITE INFORMATION
To be eligible for congregate (nutrition site) dining, you must be 60 years of age or older.  Spouses are welcome, regardless of age.  Guests under 60 must pay the full price at the site.
To be eligible for home delivered meals, you must be:
Age 60 or older
Incapacitated due to illness, accident or frailty
Without support from family, friends or neighbors to prepare meals
 Inability to prepare meals due to: Lack of stove, refrigerator, etc., inability to shop or cook for self, or lack of knowledge/skills
24 hour advance reservation required.
Suggested donation:  $ 3.50 
Guest fee varies by site | Check with site manager
