Child Find
The goal of Child Find is to ensure that all children in New York State have a primary care provider who is doing developmental screenings at all well child visits. Qualified staff work with families, physicians and community agencies to offer information & support regarding your child's development. Child Find is available to children birth to age three who reside in Lewis County. Early Intervention The Early Intervention Program provides screenings and evaluations for children birth to age three to help identify developmental delays. Once your child is determined eligible for Early Intervention, some of the services available include: physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and special instruction. Preschool Special Education This program focuses on the educational needs of children ages 3 to 5 and is administered through the local school district's Committee on Preschool Special Education. Children who are eligible for preschool services have a qualifying developmental or learning delay. Services are provided at no cost. Children and Youth with Special Healthcare Needs (CYSHCN) Programs assist children from Birth to age 21 to reach toward and achieve developmental and educational goals and includes:
